The Guest House



The Guest House has been lovingly restored to preserve the character and history of this chateau with exposed beams, stone walls and terracotta floors. It offers very comfortable accommodation for 8 people with an option of a further twin bedroom in the attached annexe, called Blanchette. The Guest House consists of four bedrooms, one of which has a king size bed, another with two large twin beds and the further two twin rooms with standard size single beds. There are two bathrooms with showers. There is a large sitting room with plenty of seating for all the guests which in the winter is kept beautifully warm and cosy with the wood burning stove, it is equipped with TV, VCR, CD player and plenty of board games. From here one can go out to the terrace, covered by vines equipped with wrought iron and marble tables and chairs to enjoy meals outside and stunning views of the valley. A door from the sitting room connects on to the dining room with a fireplace and to the newly refurbished kitchen with all modern cooking utensils and dishwasher provided.



The laundry room can be accessed from the sitting room and provides one with a washing machine, ironing board, iron and tumble dryer. A caretaker who looks after the property and lives nearby will have the house prepared for the arrival of guests and will be available should you require any advice and may also be available to do cleaning or babysitting at an extra cost with previous notice. We provide all linen and bath towels.

Blanchette


Blanchette is the annexe to the Guest House; it can also be rented individually. It is a self contained cottage which comprises of a twin bedroom, with large single beds, and bathroom on the top floor. From this bedroom one can enjoy the most beautiful views from the valley and the river Dropt which runs to the south of the property. The ground floor is a large room with an open plan kitchen, sitting room and dining area. The kitchen is basic but equipped with all necessary kitchen utensils. There is a large TV/ DVD player with numerous family and kids movies, games, playing cards etc.


The Grounds



The chateau is set in 40 acres of fields and woodlands of ancient box trees and French oaks. The tennis court is set away from the main house between the orchard and the the edge of the woods. The garden is set in open grounds with numerous terraces one of which has a built in barbeque. In an enclosed part of the gardens is the swimming pool, where there is a covered terrace with views to the pool and a pool house with shower and WC. In one of the outbuildings one can play table tennis, in another you will find the badminton court. Bikes are available but please make sure that they are in good working order before using them.
